Subject of the Seminar of Professional club was: “Healthy indoor environment”

Speaker: Leonid Reshetov, engineer and author of a new approach to indoors air ionization and elimination of air pollution caused by computer devices (especially in schools and childcare institutions)

The importance of the indoor air ionization and purification is clearly understood in Canada and US. A wide range of air ionizers is currently on the market, and the indoor air quality (IAQ) is regularly monitored and controlled. However, this control and monitoring is mostly focused on the ozone concentration, while another very important factor is usually neglected: the aero-ions composition of the air.

The first fundamental research of the impact of atmosphere electricity and aero-ions on human body was conducted at the beginning of XX century by Prof. A. Chizhevsky, an outstanding Russian scientist. The studies have shown that the unipolar aero-ions can influence different functions of the human body, such as nervous system and higher nervous activity, blood pressure, tissues breath, metabolism, body temperature, physical and chemical blood characteristics, etc. The unipolar aero-ions also have a strong physiological effect on the human organism as a whole, and this phenomenon should be taken into account in IAQ measurements and building maintenance. With this regard, the following steps were suggested:

• to approach Canadian public health and children health institutions about implementation of procedures improving the aero ionic composition of the indoors air
• to this effect, air quality tests should be taken in public buildings at different locations within in GTA, for instance: Toronto Convention Centre, North York Centre Board, Toronto District School Board, and compared with the results for the outside air ( streets near these buildings, parks, Ontario quay, Niagara Falls);
• 2 aero-ion counters and 2 regular aeroionizers (preferably, different models) are needed for this procedure. It seems possible to borrow this equipment from manufacturers or distributors who, in turn, could benefit form the advertisement of their products;
• to apply for a grant in order to successfully implement the first stage of the project. This will require a close cooperation with universities, scientific associations, government institutions, and manufacturers. The ATSS will act as a project coordinator.

Subject of the Seminar under Program “Professional orientation and adaptation” was: From professional orientation to Job placement.

The auditorium was interested to understand what is different between government Agencies and ATSS in service providing.

Vitali Guitberg has explained that the Methodological approach for Professional orientation and computer program developed by ATSS/DISK Co. partnership are unique and no other Agencies are using them. The ATSS programs aimed to consolidate all necessary means from one side, and declared a specific approach to different kind of professional immigrants to facilitate their integration in Canadian Labor market.
