ATSS ProgrammesYOU WILL GET ALL YOU WANT IN LIFE IF YOU HELP The objective of ATSS is to expedite the professional integration of internationally trained specialists into the Canadian Labour market, to find meaningful jobs and reach their full potential in contributing to the Canadian economy. ATSS Programs: To facilitate the adaptation of foreign-educated and experienced specialists in Canada, ATSS offers the interrelated Programs:
The Program Professional Orientation & Adaptation runs on the basis of the Intelligent Information & Expert Systems EMPAGE developed by the ATSS/DISK Co. Partnership. This innovative e-tool compares the professional experience, education and skills of immigrant specialists with the Canadian economic environment, helping a foreign-trained professional to find an optimal niche in the labour market. The framework for this Program includes several Projects:
The program entitled Business Development includes the following Projects:
On-line Data Base of Innovations ( www.atss.org). Through establishing special types of Technological Incubators for immigrant innovators based on methodology developed by the ATSS/DISK Partnership, ATSS enabled the preparation of innovations for commercialization by the ATSS/IDEA Inc. Partnership. The ATSS portfolio currently contains about 60 innovations.
Highly experienced professional newcomers who participated in the development of innovations as volunteers acquired Canadian experience and appropriate references. The program entitled Settlement includes various Sub-Programs and Projects. The Sub-Program "Intellectual, Cultural and Healthy Environment" was established for elderly people, kids and youth. The following are covered within this Sub-Program:
The Sub-Program e-Journal Noosphere (www.e-noosphere.com) has been established to provide a scientific and intellectual atmosphere encompassing the cultural and creative background of the immigrant society. English and Russian-speaking individuals are provided with opportunities to exchange achievements (refer to separate booklet) The Sub-Program Membership is aimed at attracting new highly trained specialists for participation in ATSS Programs, Projects, Seminars, and job placements to acquire beneficial work experience. We guide youths through volunteer placements which provide valuable experience for their future careers. The following services are provided under the Program Settlement:
The Composite Project - the exclusive ATSS web site www.atss.org, was launched in 1998 and from this time was regularly improved and redesigned several times by the group of volunteers under professional mentors. This Composite Project includes several Projects:
