Post.doc.-position within the area "Underwater Acoustics" at Department of Electronics and Telecommunications, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway - Jnr. IME-074-2006.

The Acoustic Group of the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications Department (IET) offers a two-year Post. Doc. position in underwater acoustic communication.

This is a part of a large and ambitious project with the objective to develop an integrated sensor and underwater communication network for marine observation in the Artic. The post doc position is in the area of modeling underwater water acoustic communication channels with respect to channel description and to the selection of optimum signaling and modulation strategies. This will involve both theoretical studies as well as experimental work.

Candidates should have a PhD degree in physics or telecommunications, preferably with pervious experience in acoustic underwater communication systems.

The position is remunerated according to salary code 1352, entry salary level 54-77 on the Norwegian State salary scale. This amounts to an annual gross salary of NOK 389.400.- - 604.900.-, of which 2% is deducted for the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.
