Goal
The Program Volunteer Coordinator will be involved in the management, development and restructuring of ABCs and 123s (Literacy & Numeracy Programs) and other volunteer activities
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the development, implementation and management of ABCs and 123s Programs
- Responsible for the recruitment, screening, placement, scheduling, orientation, training, supervision, recognition and evaluation of volunteers, field placement students, co-operative education students
- Monitor, evaluate, provide statistical analysis and report regularly on activities
- Prepare report / documentation for LDAYR, its partners and funders
- Manage and maintain appropriate budgets, financial matters, and databases
- Prepare and implement an action plan aimed at increasing the level of public awareness of the association and its programs / services
- Produce newsletters, flyers for members and volunteer
- Act as a liaison with partners within York Region
Compensation
Type: Hourly Amount: $17/hour, 25 hours a week
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Post-secondary education or equivalent
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience in volunteer management, program development
- A strong leader, team player, people oriented and accommodating
- Knowledge of service needs, community resources and the diversity of York Region
- Good command of software programs, including MS Words, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and other desktop publishing programs.
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral
- Willing to perform occasional evenings and weekend duties
- Other languages is an asset
