Marketing Business Analyst / Product Manager

The Company

The Medea Group medeagroup.com is the recognized international market leader in Marketing Automation software. Their pioneering web based product automates the creation and on-demand distributed delivery of marketing materials for most of Canada’s largest banks and insurance companies. They have achieved this rapid growth in just the last three years! The Medea Group is currently embarking on a major expansion into the U.S. financial services industry. They are currently looking for a Marketing Business Analyst / Product Manager to analyze and guide client product utilization, to coordinate product implementations and to further develop, enhance and manage product functionality.

The Position

As the Business Analyst, you will have direct contact with enterprise level marketing clients and internal development staff by bridging the gap between the business needs and the product delivery capability. As the Product Manager, you will have direct input to the further enhancement and development of this Marketing Automation software product.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with marketing clients to build detailed business requirements documents including budgets, high level project milestones and schedules.
  • Work with internal delivery team (Project Manager, Software Developers and QA) to create final budgets and project schedules
  • Assist in the development of functional specifications, prototypes and test cases
  • Analyze, conceptualize and documentation product-related enhancements that could have multiple client impact
  • Client liaison to communicate scheduling/process changes, delivery dates, documenting change requests, approvals and documentation management

Qualifications

  • Marketing related industry experience in Software, Print, Inter Active Media or Advertising
  • Marketing related technology experience with Marketing Automation, Digital Asset Management, Operational CRM, Web Analytics or Campaign/Contact Optimization
  • Business Analysis skills - able to break down business concepts into easy to understand written documentation
  • Product Management experience - able to understand software products from a usability and technical perspective
  • Manage multiple projects of varying size and complexity with competing priorities
  • Learn product implementation from a development, configuration, QA and installation perspective

  1. Sales and Pre-sales

    • a. Attend meetings with clients
      • i. Education sessions, product presentations
    • b. Build quotes
    • c. Find/send out product documentation
    • d. Internal consulting
      • i. Briefing on requirements to determine what SPS does and what would need to change/be enhanced
  2.  

  3. Business Requirements

    • e. Attend meetings with clients
      • i. Education sessions
      • ii. Business requirements gathering
    • f. Client consulting to determine how SPS could meet their requirements/what would need to be enhanced
    • g. Investigating business requirements internally
    • h. Correspondence with client
    • i. Templates: For initial projects with new clients, with Template Analyst:
      • i. Meetings with clients to review materials
      • ii. Consulting to determine links between Templates and functionality (i.e. print ordering, ad ordering, profile)
      • iii. Consulting with Development to help translate and clarify customer requirements and to ensure that what is being developed delivers on the customers’ requirements.

    • j. Getting approvals (sign-offs) on requirements
  4. Scoping

    • k. Scoping and quoting customizations, maintaining scope
    • l. Documenting project budgets
    • m. Scoping and quoting system change requests
  5. Specifications Documentation

       

    • n. Attend meetings with clients

      • ii. Status reviews
      • iii. Business requirements and specifications gathering
    • o. Internal meetings to determine what information is needed from the client
    • p. Correspondence with clients to gather information
    • q. Writing/documentation of specifications for development based on project business requirements

    • y. Answering questions from production team and clients during testing when needed (i.e. clarification of bug reports and change requests)

    • z. Communicating schedules and delivery dates with clients
    • aa. Following up with clients to ensure delivery dates are met

    • dd. Testing/analysis of product enhancements, decisions on questions of how enhancements should be implemented

    • ee. Consulting with Medea Support staff to help with system support when required (i.e. clarification of bug reports and change requests)

    • ff. Write product documentation including:
      • i. SPS Help copy
      • ii. Training manuals, guides and tip sheets
      • iii. Specifications ‘skeleton’ documents (i.e. the Functional Spec doc, change request doc)
      • iv. Product/Project checklists and implementation guides
      • v. Template production documentation (i.e. Template design guide, content package documents, bug list,
      • vi. Internal financial documents (i.e. price list)
